just a 35mm black n white boy.

It’s a rare and beautiful thing when a client says….”we want 35 mm black and white gritty grainy reportage”…

Especially when that really is your bag…and especially in an age of super saturated overly polished photoshop madness.

Brand spanking new Glasgow client “Graphical House” had the faith and commissioned just that. A behind the scenes reportage shoot for The University of West Scotland prospectus…shoot of a shoot essentially.

Nice creative…great new client..and I think I rocked it…just a 35mm black n white boy.

happy campers…

Turcan Connell, one of Scotland’s largest legal firms commissioned me to shoot some office reportage and staff portraits some time last year. I’ve been back several times since, last week included…they are a great client!

They liked my work so much, they recently re-branded themselves around my photos…how flattering is that!

happy campers all round!

Hunter S Thompson

Hunter S Thompson, 5.42pm, 20th February 2005… “When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro…” My favourite author of all time…I shall be raising a glass of wild turkey at precisely 5.42pm MST/00.30 GMT to mark the passing of the good doctor…one less sane soul in the world…

Gareth Malone

Another whirlwind Harper Collins portrait…A Gareth Malone book cover.

Working with Steve Boggs again. Always a pleasure.

We nailed it in under an hour.

Gareth was a legend…totally relaxed, happy to be shot, and a real hoot!

Looking forward to seeing the final book in the shops.

Jobs a goodun!

Rick The Surfer

My good friend “Rick The Surfer”, Pease Bay, East Lothian, January 2011.

More 5×4 kodak tri-x magic…as the surfers project rolls on.

Oh I do so love shooting large format film.

Balls to digital…respect to film.

Respect to the sea…respect to surfers.
