I’ve been wanting to blog about this for ages! I shot a whole bunch of new images for Scottish Provident last summer. Lewis Creative were at the helm. Now, finally… the website goes live and I have bask in the glory of a job well done!

Ha…the truth is that we had great models, great styling from Ian Todd, great art direction from Ian and Scott at Lewis….and above and beyond all else..perfect Edinburgh weather everyday for a week!

Yes folks this is shot in Scotland…whoop whoop!

This is Arthurs Seat and Sailsbury Crags in Edinburgh shot on Ilford FP4 using a wooden pinhole camera made from Balkan Cedar wood. It’s a real raw image but some what funky…all gritty and rough..I like it.

All 100% recycled natural paper and card stock, A4 letterhead paper, A5 comp slip, DVD wallet, branded DVD’s and the most “bling” business card I’ve seen! This photo does it no justice at all…which I like because it means you’ll have to see it in person…just don’t drop that sucker on your foot…it be a heavy weight mutha!

About 6 months in fact…

The success of the Head Heart newspaper, sent out to 200 odd creative directors and senior designers in late 2010, was really overwhelming.

I spent 4 months post xmas 2010 going  to portfolio viewings in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle. I’ve had some lovely comments and got some great new clients.

Then the really hard work began. I decided to re-brand entirely around the Head Heart concept. Kay Koyama Gore – a friend and great design guru in Edinburgh, agreed to take on the re-brand!

6 months later and we are finally there…an epic battle of image edits, stock choice, foil nightmares and print dilemas…

I popped my clothes over my PJ’s ..took the 5D with 70-200mm lens with a 2x converter on it…about 400mm lens at max… and snapped this little monkey from the back garden.

I love the black neutral space…thats black neutral space, literally.

Brand spanking new Glasgow client “Graphical House” had the faith and commissioned just that. A behind the scenes reportage shoot for The University of West Scotland prospectus…shoot of a shoot essentially.

Nice creative…great new client..and I think I rocked it…just a 35mm black n white boy.
